# How can I access the Brown corpus?

_Logging in to and using the ICAME Brown, LOB, Frown, FLOB, BLOB and BE06 corpus._

To use the Brown corpus as hosted by our CLARINO colleagues in Bergen you first need to login and accept the licensing terms, as explained in the following step-by-step instructions. Afterwards, you can download or query the corpus.

# Login and license acceptation

- Navigate to [Corpuscle](https://clarino.uib.no/korpuskel/home) and click on **Sign In** to login

- Login, either [via your own institution](https://forum.clarin.eu/t/how-can-i-login-with-my-institutional-credentials/269) (default) or [with a CLARIN account](https://forum.clarin.eu/t/how-can-i-login-with-my-clarin-account/270) (if your institutional login is not available or does not work)

- Navigate to [the Brown corpus in Corpuscle](http://hdl.handle.net/11495/DF2E-8AB4-BEF5-1) (titled _ICAME Brown family - extended_ , since it also includes some related corpora) and click on the **Accept** button to indicate you agree with the licensing terms

- Now proceed to the Corpus list link and click on **ICAME** in the collections list.

# Download the corpus

To download the Brown corpus, select **Overview** from the menu on the left. Both the original tagged and untagged version are available.

# Query the corpus

Select **Query** in the menu on the left. page and enter your search terms.
