# How can I convert my IMDI records to CMDI?

If you have old records in the IMDI format you can use the following profiles:

- for sessions: [CLARIN Component Registry](https://catalog.clarin.eu/ds/ComponentRegistry#/?itemId=clarin.eu%3Acr1%3Ap_1407745712035&registrySpace=public)
- for sign language sessions: [CLARIN Component Registry](https://catalog.clarin.eu/ds/ComponentRegistry#/?itemId=clarin.eu%3Acr1%3Ap_1417617523856&registrySpace=public)
- for corpus nodes: [CLARIN Component Registry](https://catalog.clarin.eu/ds/ComponentRegistry#/?itemId=clarin.eu%3Acr1%3Ap_1407745712064&registrySpace=public)

From the profile you can generate the XSD:

And then you can transform your IMDI files into CMDI files that comply with the profile with the following set of XSLTs: [imdi2cmdi](https://github.com/TheLanguageArchive/MetadataTranslator/tree/master/Translator/src/main/resources/templates/imdi2cmdi)

Another way of converting your IMDI records to CMDI is by means of the [ISLE2CLARIN](https://github.com/TheLanguageArchive/ISLE2CLARIN) tool.
