In the last months we are observing a recurring issue where the list of institutions available to login to our services appears empty. This has been reported multiple times in Firefox but other browsers might also suffer from it.
When trying to login you might find the institutions list looking like this:
Although we could not pinpoint the root cause of the problem, we came to the conclusion that this happens due to an outdated cookie in the users’ browser. To fix the issue you have some options:
-
Use a clean browser session by closing all tabs in your browser, closing the browser itself and reopen it.
-
Clean cache and cookies (preferred):
- Close any tab using the URL https://discovery.clarin.eu.
- On your browser menu go to: “History” → “Clear Recent History” . Then select: “Everything” in the time-range to clear. Tick the “cache” and the “cookies” check-boxes and click “Clear now”.
- Go back to your service login page.
- Use a “Private window” (fastest). By default browsers do not load preexisting cookies onto “Private sessions” so the quickest way to get your institutions back to the login page is to use a “Private window” session and access your service.
Let us know if we can further help you with this issue.
