With the release of Component Registry version 2.6.0 (available at its usual location as of 22 January 2026), the CLARIN Concept Registry (CCR) is no longer used as the default source for concept links in CMD Components and Profiles definitions. The concept search dialog, which is the recommended way of finding concepts to relate to metadata components and properties in CMDI, now offers a search through the items and properties available from Wikidata.
Existing Components and Profiles have already been updated to have their CCR based concept links replaced with equivalent Wikidata references where available.
An additional validation mechanism has been added to the editor component of the application that directly informs the user in case a concept link has been set that does not match the current guidelines.
To find out more, you may read the updated Component Registry documentation or, for technical information, the change log of the Component Registry application.
