Training and Capacity Building in Open Science

Dear all,

We got the request below via the Skills4EOSC project, which aims to create a training ecosystem for Open and FAIR Science. If your professional profile fits one of the 14 roles below identified in the project, please fill in the questionnaire. Your answer will help us identify learning objectives for future training and capacity building programmes, in which CLARIN is or will be involved as well.

Roles: civil servant, data steward, digital collections curator, ethics advisor, knowledge broker, legal expert, policymaker for research, policymaker - evidence-based policy, researcher - early career, researcher - senior, research infrastructure professional, scholarly communication professional …

Skills4EOSC has produced a questionnaire to assess whether the proposed Minimum Viable Skills (MVS) profiles effectively target the ‘essential’ learning outcomes for various roles. You can access the questionnaire here:

Deadline: 24 April

The MVS profiles are designed to be generic and adaptable to different contexts (e.g., national, domain, or thematic).

Your input will be vital in determining if these ‘essentials’ work for that purpose, as generic statements. The questionnaire will ask you to review one of the MVS profiles, preferably for a role that supports your work in Open Science. All the relevant information will be provided in the survey.

If possible, please forward this email to others within your organization and networks. We would greatly appreciate hearing from people in various roles, including researchers, regarding the skills others should possess to effectively support them.
